Skyland Goldens
Tuff on our family farm.
Established in 2023 with the acquisition of my first purebred golden retriever, I have been slowly building a program of the highest quality dogs. My first two dogs came from my great friend Craig Westergaard of Westben Goldens. Through Craig’s mentorship, we have a small group of high quality dogs that are beginning to show in conformation events.
To rewind, my love for the breed started with my childhood dog, Tuff. Although, he was a mix breed, Tuff was primarily golden retriever and the “best dog a kid could have!” He lived on our family farm from the time I was 2 years old until he passed away when I was 18 years old. It is safe to say that he helped “raise” me and turn me into the animal person I am today. While growing up, I was also blessed to have a Parsons Russell Terrier named Jackson who I showed competitively in 4H. I trained Jackson to perfectly perform obedience and showmanship commands while also garnering many awards. We received many obedience 1sts and “Showman of Showmen” awards all over Ohio, while also qualifying for state competition! After I retired Jackson, I started showing horses on the National level (which I still do to this day)! It has been the joy of a lifetime to bring dogs back into my life while also enjoying the horses! We believe in keeping our program small to ensure that each dog receives the daily love and attention that they deserve!
